About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Operational Reporting & Insights function at an organizational level
- Shape strategy, drive adoption of advanced reporting technologies, and foster talent development
- Define and drive clinical/operational reporting strategy across products, roles, and geographies
- Lead the roadmap and governance for solution delivery, including requirements, data readiness, development, testing, release, and maintenance
- Establish portfolio-level trend, risk, and opportunity reporting with executive-ready narratives and visualizations
- Translate insights into portfolio priorities and experiments while framing assumptions, caveats, risks, and success criteria
- Implement intake and prioritization for ad hoc analytics and convert recurring requests into scalable self-service solutions
- Direct industry benchmarking and synthesize insights into performance targets and investment decisions
- Define and govern reporting metrics and standards; use adoption and value metrics to refine priorities
- Oversee enablement and change management support for solutions
- Align data refresh and source priorities with business needs; establish reliability KPIs and communication norms for changes and incidents
- Set principles for access policies, workspace structures, and permission models
- Build team capability through development standards, documentation standards, mentoring, and upskilling
- Create a continuous learning and innovation agenda and operationalize new technologies and reporting methods
- Set objectives, assign work, set priorities, conduct reviews, coach performance, and provide recognition
- Develop career plans, growth opportunities, promotion cases, training, and mentoring
- Lead recruiting and hiring and manage sensitive employee relations with HR
- Balance workloads, coordinate contingent resources across geographies, and ensure effective handoffs
- Manage the operating budget and optimize spend
- Align teams around direction and facilitate team/functional meetings
- Champion organizational change and adoption of new operating models and digital capabilities
- Support staff in resolving unique operational challenges through engagement, facilitation, mentoring, and expert problem-solving
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biological Sciences, or a health care–related discipline and minimum of 10 years' experience in a relevant field
- OR Advanced Degree (Masters or Doctorate) in the listed disciplines and minimum of 8 years' experience in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years' people management experience
- Deep subject matter expertise in the relevant discipline
- Demonstrated success managing large, diverse, and geographically distributed teams
- Experience with BI reporting and visualization tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, or Tableau
- Deep understanding of data literacy best practices
- Deep proficiency in data preparation, light wrangling, validation, quality review, and escalation principles
- Deep understanding of spreadsheet and tabular standardization, controls, and QA practices
- Fluency with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and product development practices
- Expert knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical trial operations
- Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, quality frameworks, and compliance implications
- Understanding of technical enablement and change management programs
- Understanding of analytics/programming concepts and ability to collaborate with technical teams
