About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development of strategic forecasts for products and indications
- Interpret forecast implications, develop insights, and communicate recommendations to support marketing strategy
- Collaborate with Market Research, Data Science, Payer Analytics, Marketing, Market Access, and Finance
- Serve as primary contact for commercial teams on product and indication forecasts and forecast-related insights
- Scope, design, and deliver forecasting projects and periodic forecasting cycles
- Determine appropriate forecast modeling approaches, tools, and techniques
- Develop insights strategies and plans to provide inputs for strategic forecasting
- Lead the team through enterprise forecasting cycles
- Use the Forecasting digital tool and guide coding experts in implementing forecasting workflows
- Explain forecasting results to stakeholders
- Monitor actual performance against forecast and identify drivers
- Align with business partners on forecasting inputs, outputs, and insights
- Apply trend-based forecasting, scenario analysis, Monte Carlo analysis, and other forecasting capabilities
- Build and develop high-performing strategic forecasting teams
- Mentor, coach, and lead direct and indirect reports
- Partner and influence across a highly matrixed organization, including US- and India-based colleagues
- Communicate forecasting processes, inputs, and insights clearly to stakeholders
- Enable problem-solving around targeted business questions
- Act as a thought leader and strategic partner to business partners
- Develop forecasting solutions supporting business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline required
- Minimum of 8–10+ years of relevant delivery of complex analytical projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry using market research and/or large patient or physician databases
- Experience developing forecast models and extracting forecasting insights
- Experience leading diverse groups of work colleagues and positively managing ambiguity
- Ability to lead cross-functional pods
- Ability to work independently and collaborate seamlessly
- Ability to lead without authority
- Ability to understand business processes and translate business questions into hypotheses and requirements to guide analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills with appreciation for data-oriented analytical methods
- Ability to operate in an unstructured environment and create structure and clarity
- Ability to work within a highly matrixed environment and prioritize work efficiently and effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- MBA or Master’s or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Medical Sciences preferred
- Direct line management experience preferred
- Therapeutic area experience in oncology, vaccines, or pharma/rare preferred
- Advanced forecasting experience, including patient-based and trend-based models, scenarios, and simulations preferred
- Consultative business partner experience preferred
- Experience partnering with Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Market Research, Data Science, or Payer Analytics preferred
- No visa sponsorship
- Must be based at the hybrid Rahway, NJ or Upper Gwynedd, PA locations
- Travel may be required, under 20%
