About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own strategic direction for the packaging service line
  • Define priorities, advance capabilities, and ensure external partner performance supports portfolio and pipeline objectives
  • Translate business, portfolio, and network needs into packaging strategies, operating models, and continuous improvement priorities
  • Lead through influence across GCS functions, enabling partners, suppliers, and leadership
  • Oversee supplier deliverables, timelines, performance, risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Drive supplier governance effectiveness, risk mitigation, capability development, and integration readiness
  • Partner with planning, distribution, sourcing, procurement, finance, and functional stakeholders
  • Ensure end-to-end visibility, capacity alignment, financial stewardship, and delivery of business-critical packaging needs
  • Lead strategic problem solving, scenario planning, and risk mitigation
  • Drive transformation, process standardization, and scalable ways of working
  • Communicate operational, supplier, financial, and performance insights to senior leaders
  • Strengthen governance maturity, transparency, and scalable external partnership models
  • Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues across EPS and GCS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years' experience in a corporate environment within pharmaceutical or similar industry
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in clinical supply chain, packaging operations and/or vendor management
  • Strong understanding of Current Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practices (cGMP/GDP), including FDA and EMEA
  • Demonstrated strategic ability to develop innovative solutions and business processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Qlik Sense, SAP, or similar business intelligence and enterprise systems preferred
  • Strategic planning and realization
  • Strong compliance mindset
  • Managerial skills
  • Valid driving license
  • Must be a US or Puerto Rico resident
