About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic communications for all U.S. Human Health manufacturing sites
  • Develop and execute communications strategies supporting site and network business objectives, employee engagement, change, and reputation
  • Advise Site Leadership Teams and work with Plant Managers and cross-functional program leads
  • Lead a team of four U.S. site communicators
  • Lead sensitive communications involving workforce restructurings, environmental or safety incidents, and regulatory enforcement
  • Coordinate with U.S. and Asia site communicators to align global communications and standardize best practices
  • Lead end-to-end employee communications on strategy, performance, priorities, safety, quality, compliance, and inclusion
  • Partner with HR, Operations, EHS, Quality, and communications/corporate affairs teams on change management, organizational design, and network transformations
  • Coordinate external communications, media engagement, community and stakeholder relations, and major announcements
  • Lead issues management and crisis communications, including localized plans, scenarios, messaging, and response coordination
  • Support communications for regulatory inspections, approvals, capital projects, technology transfers, new product introductions, and other milestones
  • Develop content including leader messages, intranet content, presentations, videos, talking points, and FAQs
  • Build a community of practice for U.S. site communicators and partners
  • Establish and track communications KPIs and provide insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Co-lead executive visits and events at U.S. sites
  • Manage external agencies, consultants, and vendors
  • Coordinate with global Manufacturing Division communications colleagues
  • Represent the Manufacturing Division on enterprise and product communications councils and teams
  • Lead global communications for the External Manufacturing team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field required
  • Minimum of 8 years of communications experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, med tech, biotech or similarly regulated industries
  • Strong experience in international and/or multi-country communications
  • Direct experience working in or supporting manufacturing, operations or supply chain environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple stakeholders and sites
  • Experience localizing global strategies for site-level implementation
  • Proven track record in issues management and crisis communications
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical environment
  • Familiarity with relevant U.S. and local regulatory and compliance requirements impacting communications
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Ability to counsel and influence senior leaders and provide strategic communications recommendations
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent planning and project management skills
  • Experience working in a matrixed, global organization and collaborating across time zones and functions
  • Experience leading or coordinating virtual and cross-cultural teams and/or networks of communicators preferred
  • Approximately 25–30% travel across U.S. manufacturing sites and to regional/global meetings
  • No visa sponsorship
