About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage face to face and virtually with customers
- Build strong customer relationships, understand customer needs, and consult on appropriate solutions
- Sell companion animal products within vacant territories across the United States
- Temporarily reside in vacant territories and move from territory to territory as business needs arise
- Identify veterinary clinic and corporate account customer needs
- Sell the company’s Animal Health products
- Support pull-through activities aligned with customer strategy
- Build rapport with key customers and distribution partners
- Communicate tailored product information to customers
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customers and conduct meetings with decision-makers
- Develop customer strategies, interaction plans, relationship objectives, solutions, and offerings to generate sales opportunities and growth
- Create territory and account plans for key customers
- Partner with National Account Managers, Corporate Account Teams, and Distribution Partners to drive occupancy and sales growth
- Share learnings and best practices and collaborate with team members
- Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget
- Identify Animal Health programs and services and provide education and training opportunities
- Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Professional Services Veterinarians to develop and deliver customer offerings
- Maintain knowledge of products, industry trends, competitors, business models, influencers, and network structures
- Communicate customer, industry, product, and market trends internally
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, including professional sales, distribution, marketing, military service, or veterinary/healthcare/scientific fields; OR Bachelor’s Degree with 0–3 years sales experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% nationally
- Documented sales experience preferred
- Experience selling animal health products and services through veterinary and/or shelter channels preferred
- Knowledge of biological/medical products and ability to engage in dialogue with medical professionals preferred
- Understanding of distribution partners and/or prior experience working with distribution preferred
- Ability and willingness to relocate for future career growth preferred
- Valid driving license
- No visa sponsorship
