About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set, own, and communicate product vision, strategy, and outcome-based roadmaps for Disease Biology and PharmTox digital capabilities
  • Define and prioritize roadmaps for multimodal profiling across disease biology and preclinical research
  • Manage product investments and contribute to business cases, including value, resources, risks, dependencies, and total cost of ownership
  • Develop a cohesive strategy for a suite of scientific products and applications
  • Align priorities across scientists, data scientists, lab operations, technology teams, and business leaders
  • Collaborate across Lab Operations and Data & Analytics product lines on end-to-end multi-omics, preclinical, and imaging workflows
  • Understand user needs through interviews, shadowing, and usage analytics
  • Map processes and information architecture to identify pain points and automation opportunities
  • Translate scientific and business needs into problem statements, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, success measures, and product requirements documents
  • Drive solution discovery and rapid prototyping
  • Prioritize features and trade-offs; manage backlogs and release planning
  • Manage a portfolio of scientific applications and lead squads
  • Evaluate tools, manage vendors, influence roadmaps, and integrate solutions with internal systems and the data lake
  • Partner with product technology and engineering leads on ecosystem integration
  • Apply industry standards and ontologies to develop FAIR applications and advance AI/ML approaches for drug discovery
  • Create and maintain SDLC documentation, guidelines, SOPs, training materials, and user communications
  • Support regulatory audits and inspections
  • Drive adoption through metrics, user feedback, reports, visualizations, and user groups
  • Promote capabilities and collaboration across teams
  • Monitor competitive landscapes, standards, and emerging technologies
  • Coach teams in customer-centered product practices and remove roadblocks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in scientific software development, pharmaceutical sciences, target discovery, or scientific data management
  • Strong understanding of early target discovery and preclinical development domain and processes
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary squads to launch and manage software products
  • Experience translating business needs into user stories and product requirements
  • Experience with scientific workflows, including COTS, in-house, and open-source solutions
  • Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile practices
  • Comfortable operating in GxP-regulated environments
  • Exceptional communication across science, engineering, and business in a matrixed organization
  • Proficient with Jira, Confluence, Mural, Figma, and Balsamiq
  • Working knowledge of data models, ontologies, and information architecture in drug discovery
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously across time zones
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to operate at strategic and execution levels
  • M.A./M.S. with 3+ years, or B.A./B.S. with 5+ years of experience in a scientific or technical discipline
  • Preferred: experience as a scientist, Informatics Analyst, Imaging Analyst, or IT Analyst in drug discovery or development
  • Preferred: experience with AI-powered product tools and AI-enabled scientific workflows
  • Preferred: experience defining and measuring value for AI-driven features
  • Preferred: experience supervising and mentoring team members
  • Preferred: proficiency with R and Python
  • Preferred: familiarity with structured relational databases and data integration
  • Preferred: data visualization and dashboard skills, such as Power BI
  • Preferred: experience in Agile development environments
