About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive strategic operating priorities related to scientific innovation, resource prioritization, organizational adaptation, and diverse talent
- Engage in scientific exchange and research support with external scientific leaders and investigators in Pulmonary Hypertension
- Provide balanced, factual scientific information about non-product areas, company products, and company data
- Facilitate and develop peer-level relationships with scientific leaders and investigators
- Identify and address scientific needs and ensure access to medical and scientific information
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable Medical Affairs contact presence
- Lead proactive non-product discussions on disease states, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet medical need, and population health
- Integrate scientific knowledge into actionable insights for Research & Development and Human Health strategies
- Communicate external stakeholder opinions, insights, and feedback to Medical Affairs headquarters teams
- Represent Research & Development at scientific meetings and congresses and contribute to debriefs and post-congress reports
- Support company-sponsored trials and Investigator Study Programs
- Identify potential investigators for Phase II-IV clinical development programs
- Provide scientific support for sponsored trials
- Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams
- Maintain disease and therapeutic-area expertise through conferences, workshops, and journal review
- Comply with company policies, laws, regulations, ethical standards, field SOPs, GCP guidelines, and operational responsibilities
- Contribute to an inclusive, equitable, engaged, and empowering environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D. or relevant APP credential required
- Three years in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment
- Three years of clinical and/or research experience beyond the terminal degree program in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary therapeutic areas, with demonstrated scientific excellence, or five years of relevant Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) experience with demonstrated scientific excellence
- Principled interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills
- Deep therapeutic competency and current knowledge of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary/translational science trends
- Ability to network and partner with scientific leaders, investigators, clinical practice leaders, academic-affiliated institutions, and treatment guideline members
- Recognition for scientific excellence in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary therapeutic areas preferred
- Clinical therapeutic-area practice and independent research/publication experience highly desirable
- Five years of prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- Prior experience within the geography and established therapeutic-area stakeholder relationships preferred
- Effective leadership skills preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred
- Ability to consolidate and understand complex data sets, execute data analyses, summarize/synthesize data, and objectively interpret results preferred
- Knowledge of national and society treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, OIG, HIPAA, and relevant ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations preferred
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a changing environment preferred
- Up to 50% travel, including overnight
- Must reside within the defined Central Plains territory: Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, or Iowa
- Valid driving license required
