About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor borrower financial performance on an ongoing basis
  • Evaluate collateral performance at the borrowing base component level and ensure adequate collateral coverage
  • Assess historical and projected liquidity and excess availability levels
  • Ensure collateral is regularly appraised and field exams evaluate collateral quality and controls; recommend adjustments when needed
  • Prepare detailed written credit analyses and required credit applications
  • Evaluate loan purpose and structure, liquidity, asset protection, repayment sources, corporate, regulatory and industry risk, operating performance, and capital structure
  • Contribute to revenue and return growth through cross-sell efforts and lead presentations with portfolio officers, relationship managers, product partners, and ABF origination staff
  • Monitor troubled credits, recommend and implement appropriate actions, participate in performance and exposure strategy meetings, and address bankruptcy and collateral liquidation issues
  • Assist with bank group management as agent, including client needs, solution structuring, term negotiation, and bank group communication
  • Perform due diligence and provide timely responses to additional credit requests
  • Maintain accurate internal and regulatory risk ratings and recommend adjustments when material credit-profile changes occur
  • Conduct periodic discussions with agents, obtain borrower updates, and address amend-and-extend requests and amendments
  • Assist with internal and external examinations, audits, compliance, and operational activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a business major
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant corporate financial analysis experience; specific experience in asset-based lending is a plus
  • Career track as a corporate finance professional with a credit and analytical background
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Financial modeling and analytical skills using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytic and quantitative skills
  • CFA Level 1, 2 or 3 or an MBA is a plus
  • Background with loan documentation is a plus
  • Completion of a formal credit-training program at a money center, large national, or super regional bank is a plus
