About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Align day-to-day activities and direct reports with departmental business strategy
  • Lead, direct, and manage team members, ensuring responsibilities, policies, and organisational values are understood and followed
  • Support business heads in identifying opportunities to promote and protect revenue
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis for senior-stakeholder decision-making
  • Oversee and manage development of new Capital Markets Group APAC activities
  • Optimise and reengineer operating models to balance revenue and risk
  • Identify, monitor, and escalate risks across functions
  • Represent the group across committees and forums
  • Maintain desk procedures through annual reviews and ad-hoc updates
  • Work with Compliance Advisory on regulatory changes and with Finance, Compliance, and Internal Audit
  • Document risks and controls, implement mitigation processes, oversee first-line controls teams, and ensure internal compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a COO or Business Management lead role within financial services
  • Overall 15 years of experience in corporate/investment banking and/or capital markets
  • Proven experience working on debt products (loans or bonds)
  • Understanding of deal value chains
  • Track record executing strategy or delivering key strategic projects within complex organisations
  • Ability to collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and HR
  • Managerial experience leading high-performing teams
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Results-oriented mindset and accountability for agreed outcomes
  • Structured approach and sound judgement under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Synhub is advantageous
