About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write technical specifications before implementation, defining expected behavior, acceptance criteria, and test cases
- Develop applications and agents with LangChain, including chains, tools, memory, API integrations, and database integrations
- Design and optimize prompts for different models, with version control and regression testing
- Build RAG pipelines with document ingestion and splitting, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, and reranking
- Prepare datasets and conduct fine-tuning when prompting and RAG are insufficient, evaluating cost-effectiveness
- Create evaluations to measure solution quality, hallucination, latency, and cost
- Deploy solutions to production with monitoring, observability, and strong data security and privacy practices
- Collaborate with product and business teams to identify use cases and translate them into specifications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience building applications with chains, agents, tools, and retrievers in LangChain; familiarity with LangGraph and LangSmith is a plus
- Habit of writing clear specifications before coding and using specifications to guide implementation, testing, and the use of AI coding assistants
- Strong command of prompt engineering, including few-shot prompting, structured instructions, step-by-step reasoning, and JSON outputs, with systematic testing
- Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, chunking, hybrid search, and retrieval evaluation
- Knowledge of when to apply fine-tuning, dataset preparation, LoRA/PEFT, or API-based fine-tuning, as well as how to evaluate results
- Advanced Python skills and experience with REST APIs
- Git and GitHub, including pull requests and code reviews
- Completed degree or postgraduate qualification in a field related to the scope of the role
