About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide focused community and clinic health services within the healthcare team
- Administer MSR medications, including Suboxone and Subutex, to incarcerated patients under supervision
- Review MSR referrals and refer patients to nurses or providers as appropriate
- Assess prevention-screening needs using electronic reports and provider schedules
- Perform pre-visit activities, prepare patients for exams and procedures, set up equipment, and collect specimens
- Monitor chronic disease and prevention reports and initiate follow-up or referrals
- Follow up on specialty referrals, clinical treatments, prescriptions, and medication cancellations
- Document patient encounters using SOAP methodology and EPIC dot-phrases and smart phrases
- Support clinic flow through provider support, patient rooming, and ordering directed labs
- Provide after-visit instructions and arrange follow-up appointments
- Administer treatments including wound care, ear irrigation, suture removal, catheterization, and fluoride treatments
- Perform diagnostic testing including laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs
- Collaborate with RNs and PCPs on plans of care
- Complete required documentation and charting
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report repairs
- Complete assigned quality control and assurance activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of an Oregon State Board of Nursing approved program at the certificate level or higher
- License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 678.021
- Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience
- Valid CPR/BLS certification upon hire
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or approved medical/religious exemption
- Successful background investigation, which may include fingerprinting
- Ability to work as an Essential Employee
- Resume demonstrating minimum qualifications
