About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and provide active support to clients and direct support staff in residential support settings for individuals with complex behavioral challenges
- Respond urgently to behavioral events by phone, video, or in person, providing direct intervention, post-event encouragement, and practical support
- Provide updates to the Behavioral Services Coordinator, Director of Behavioral Services, and Regional managers as needed
- Investigate behavioral incidents, including causes, staff responses, and client responses
- Conduct meetings with staff, non-employee witnesses, and potentially clients; review staff training records
- Report findings and preliminary recommendations and collaborate on revised actions and final recommendations
- Mentor direct support supervisors and non-supervisory staff through on-the-floor training
- Assist with written root cause analysis reports for behavioral events resulting in lost-time injuries
- Present verbal or written reports to internal or external agency employees or stakeholders
- Update Behavioral Support Plans as assigned
- Enhance company trainings based on behavioral events and identified best practices
- Serve as a certified trainer for Mandt and CPI as required
- Recommend evidence-based training programs based on client groups and individual diagnoses
- Provide continuing education, quality assurance, and ongoing support on approved restrictive measures and behavioral support techniques
- Promptly report arrests or charges issued by law enforcement
- Report allegations of abuse, conflict of interest, harassment, or fraud to appropriate management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in the Human Service field specifically with individuals who present mild to significant behavioral support needs
- Training and/or mentorship experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related human services field preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
- Highly organized with an ability to work under tight deadlines and with little direction
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to make sound decisions in a timely and confident manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Flexibility with schedule and ability to work various shifts
- Ability to respond urgently to situations as they arise
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
- Maintains insurance on personal vehicle
