About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and improve the overall structure of the GCP environment, including projects, folders, and access model
  • Define and support governance and compliance standards through policies and automation
  • Manage access and permissions in GCP IAM, ensuring secure and controlled user access
  • Support identity and authentication integration, including SSO and access processes
  • Implement cloud security best practices, including secrets management, encryption, and auditing
  • Support cloud networking configuration and connectivity, including VPCs, firewall rules, and routing
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code automation, with Terraform preferred
  • Establish monitoring, logging, and operational processes to prepare GCP for production usage
  • Enable cloud adoption and best practices across engineering teams
  • Support the Kubernetes platform on GCP (GKE) as a secondary responsibility
  • Support adoption and governance of key GCP data and AI services such as BigQuery and Vertex AI
  • Report to the Team Lead Site Reliability Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform in a cloud infrastructure, platform, or operations role
  • Proven experience managing cloud environments with multiple projects and teams
  • Strong understanding of IAM, access governance, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools (Terraform preferred)
  • Good understanding of cloud networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging practices and operational readiness
  • Exposure to Kubernetes/GKE is a plus
  • Interest or experience supporting data and AI platforms such as BigQuery and Vertex AI is a strong advantage
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
