About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Retrieve, abstract, and curate high-quality oncology datasets from various EHR platforms into proprietary NPM or third-party EDC systems
- Conduct pre-screening chart reviews via EHR/EMR systems and clinical sources to assess patient eligibility against protocol criteria
- Maintain pre-screening logs and dashboards documenting eligibility status
- Ensure compliance and confidentiality with NPM and Network Site policies, SOPs, and GCP standards
- Curate patient history, diagnoses, treatment regimens, disease progression, and genomic testing results according to proprietary abstraction guidelines
- Provide feedback and recommendations on abstraction workflows, user experience, educational resources, features, and tools
- Provide input into process checks and collaborate with quality management and biostatistics to resolve data issues
- Collaborate with data, software, quantitative science, data development, and Software Engineering teams to improve the platform and data collection experience
- Dedicate 90–100% of effort to abstraction depending on business needs
- Perform other duties supporting team and company goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of relevant experience with oncology data abstraction/curation from health information systems utilizing industry standard data ontologies
- Oncology/Hematology RN/LPN, Clinical Research Associate (CRA), NCRA Accredited Program certification, or comparable professional experience preferred
- Experience in both solid tumor and hematologic malignancy abstraction
- Familiarity with oncological clinical trial eligibility criteria and protocol review
- Familiarity with genomic testing in cancer preferred
- Experience navigating EHR/EMR systems, including Epic, Cerner, OncoEMR, or Iknowmed, for chart review
- Ability to navigate EHRs and follow proprietary guidance documents to curate comprehensive cancer patient data
- Technical savvy and willingness to learn new systems and technology
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to problem solve and provide constructive, articulate feedback in a collaborative environment
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA and FDA-regulated clinical trial research requirements preferred
- Ability to work in a HIPAA-compliant home office
- Availability during core business hours with flexibility to attend weekly team and company meetings
- Ability to travel may be required less than 10%
- Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
