About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support parents from their return home after hospital discharge
- Provide care for newborns aged 0 to 3 months, including hygiene, diaper changes, bathing, and daily care
- Manage feeding, including breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, feeding schedules, and hygiene protocols
- Support the baby’s sleep by establishing appropriate rhythms, a suitable environment, and soothing routines
- Observe, identify, and report signs of discomfort or distress
- Maintain a professional approach suited to high-end families, including discretion, confidentiality, and respect for family routines
- Communicate clearly and reassuringly with parents, both day and night
- Complete video modules, use downloadable materials, and undertake exercises
- Take part in video-conference sessions, case studies, practical activities, simulations, and workshops
- Complete an initial skills assessment, ongoing assessments, and a final validation of acquired skills
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience caring for babies and young children, including in private households, nurseries, maternity hospitals, or similar settings
- Genuine interest in postnatal support and the parent–baby relationship
- Ability to work variable hours, including days and nights, as part of future Maternity Nurse assignments
- Professionalism, reliability, discretion, and a polished appearance
- Comfortable completing online training
- Internet connection and access to a computer or tablet
