About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the project management practice for NAPA Safety Solutions
  • Define, introduce and embed a common way of running projects
  • Establish standards, coaching, transparency and progressively agreed governance
  • Lead selected complex projects or programs directly
  • Work across all Safety Solutions teams involved in project delivery and with account teams
  • Support and coach project managers and build a project management community of practice
  • Provide portfolio-level visibility and resource-load transparency to leadership
  • Own the end-to-end project management process, including stage gates, decision rights, roles, responsibilities and expectations
  • Improve information flow across sales and account teams, project execution, service and support
  • Establish the client communication and expectation-management model across project stages
  • Develop the project delivery toolset, templates and standards
  • Lead change management, adoption, lessons learned and continuous improvement
  • Develop project management capability and career paths based on the IPMA training program
  • Create and implement a documented project management process with clear steps, stage gates, responsibilities and expectations
  • Define functioning handovers from account team to delivery and from delivery to service and support
  • Build templates for charters, plans, status, handover and closure, plus portfolio and resource-load visibility
  • Run pilot projects, coaching, a project manager community and a lessons-learned loop

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in engineering, technology, business or an equivalent field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of experience leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects or programs, with clear personal accountability for outcomes
  • Experience designing and documenting a project management process, including stage gates, decision rights and responsibility models, and implementing it in an organization
  • Experience owning the full project lifecycle from pre-sales and scoping through delivery and handover into service and support
  • Track record with programs involving repeated deliveries to the same customer across multiple sites, units or vessels
  • Experience leading projects delivered through several internal teams and subcontractors without line authority
  • Fluency in scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resource and dependency management
  • Experience in change management and adoption, including coaching project managers, building a community of practice and measuring adoption
  • Ability to lead without direct authority; credibility with senior technical experts; experience with distributed, multicultural teams
  • Customer-facing and stakeholder skills at project and steering group level
  • Comfortable using English daily, in writing and conversation
  • Located and eligible to work in Germany
  • Recognized senior-level project management certification such as IPMA Level B or A or PMP is advantageous
  • Experience in company transition from small and hands-on to larger and more structured is a strong advantage
  • Commercial and contractual competence, including scope change, variation handling, acceptance criteria and penalties, is advantageous
  • Project recovery experience is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of IPMA, PMI and ITIL and familiarity with P3M3 or IPMA Delta is advantageous
  • Experience with project and portfolio planning, resource planning and reporting tools such as Power BI or equivalent is advantageous
  • Comfort working in a Microsoft 365 environment is advantageous
  • Change management certification such as Prosci, or process improvement credentials such as Lean or Six Sigma, is advantageous
  • Hybrid delivery experience is a plus
  • Jira and Confluence workflow-design-level skills are a plus
