About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop NAPA Engineer, a next-generation design and computing platform for naval architects
- Focus on application usability development using .NET, C#, WPF, and XAML
- Develop, test, and maintain NAPA ship design solutions
- Work with Windows desktop applications, native libraries, third-party components, 3D graphics libraries, database engines, and licensing solutions
- Use AI coding agents to plan, write, test, review, and refactor code
- Help evaluate AI coding tools and share learnings with the team
- Collaborate with software developers, naval architectural experts, UX designers, DevOps, sales, and global colleagues
- Help shape practical AI coding-agent tooling and review practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Academic degree in a relevant field such as computer science, mathematics, physics, naval architecture, or engineering
- Completed basic studies and/or good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming
- 2+ years of experience building native Windows desktop applications
- Experience in UI design
- Experience using WPF, C#, and XAML
- Understanding of user experience and ability to apply it in design work
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or coding agents in real development work
- Judgment to review, test, and take responsibility for AI-generated code
- Interest in NAPA’s maritime business domain
- Comfortable using English daily in writing and conversation
- Experience with agentic coding workflows is advantageous
- Knowledge or studies in usability is advantageous
- Experience with database solutions is advantageous
- Experience in automated testing methods is advantageous
- Knowledge of software reliability and maintainability is advantageous
- Experience in CAD or CAE applications is advantageous
