About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, operate, and continuously improve AI agents that automate operational, engineering, and support workflows
  • Develop agent orchestration frameworks using large language models, tool integrations, structured workflows, and workflow-based automation patterns
  • Build and maintain automation pipelines combining AI reasoning and decision-making with deterministic systems, controls, and operational processes
  • Implement Python-based services supporting AI agent execution, control, and integration with internal platforms, APIs, ITSM systems, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools
  • Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines for AI-enabled services and automation platforms
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex AI and automation issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort through agentic automation
  • Document architectures and workflows
  • Research emerging AI technologies and develop proofs of concept to evaluate new capabilities
  • Report to the AVP – Systems and Network Administration
  • Support mission-critical systems, engineering workflows, and operational tooling across Nasdaq

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Expert-level Python development experience with strong knowledge of automation and orchestration frameworks
  • Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with Git
  • Experience integrating systems through REST APIs
  • Proficiency in YAML and JSON
  • Experience building AI agents, autonomous systems, or AI-driven automation solutions
  • Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and tool-calling frameworks
  • Experience combining AI decision logic with deterministic automation
  • Experience designing event-driven, workflow-based systems
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and collaborate effectively across global teams
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Preferred: Experience with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code practices, Ansible, or other configuration management tools
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS cloud technologies and/or AWS professional certifications
  • Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, databases, and modern application development technologies
  • Preferred: Experience working within financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
