About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Hunt for emerging fraud threats and patterns across transaction data, case data, marked fraud, and other signals within the Verafin network
  • Turn fraud intelligence into actionable insights for clients and internal teams
  • Explain emerging activity, attack patterns, and response opportunities
  • Analyze how enterprise clients use Verafin scores and data within their fraud strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve fraud detection and reduce false positives
  • Partner with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing
  • Translate findings into client recommendations, product improvements, and broader fraud intelligence
  • Help scale fraud analysis through automation, AI, and data architecture improvements
  • Report to an AVP of Product Strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in fraud analytics, fraud strategy, or related areas
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills
  • Experience working with large, complex transactional data sets
  • Strong understanding of fraud typologies and financial services, including scams, account takeover, and payment fraud
  • Proven ability to spot patterns and anomalies in complex data and turn them into clear, practical recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tell a compelling data story to technical teams and non-technical clients
  • Experience with AI/ML concepts, automation, or agentic AI tools (nice to have)
  • Experience working with enterprise financial institutions or within fraud/cybersecurity threat intelligence (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with payment systems and analytical tools, including Python, R, or data visualization platforms (nice to have)
