About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead policy and regulatory analysis for Europe, Canada, and other geographies outside the United States
  • Research and analyze regulatory frameworks, environmental compliance standards, and clean energy policies
  • Identify market entry barriers and government incentives to inform geographic expansion
  • Represent Natel with regulators, ministries, agencies, and elected officials in Europe and Canada
  • Build relationships with policymakers and lead participation in consultations, rulemakings, standards processes, and industry coalitions
  • Direct in-country regulatory consultants and lobbyists in France, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Canada
  • Set consultant scopes, priorities, and deliverables and coordinate their work into a coherent regulatory strategy
  • Apply regulatory and legislative analysis to support market expansion decisions and tactics
  • Translate policy incentives into ROI visualizations, one-pagers, digital ads, and slide decks
  • Set Account-Based Marketing strategy for Europe and Canada with the commercial team and Marketing Manager
  • Create bespoke content for individual asset owners
  • Own conference strategy and abstract submissions
  • Manage Natel’s presence at industry events in Europe and Canada
  • Report to the VP of External Affairs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7-10+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, B2B marketing, or strategic communications
  • Ability to research, interpret, and compare regulatory frameworks
  • Experience engaging regulators, agency staff, ministries, or elected officials on behalf of an organization
  • Experience directing external consultants, lobbyists, or retained advisors
  • Understanding of change within complex public and private organizations, stakeholder motivations, and strategic planning
  • Experience designing and leading Account-Based Marketing strategies or supporting complex sales cycles
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to adapt voices for different audiences
  • Working proficiency in content design using Figma, Canva, Google Slides, Adobe, or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly across a distributed team
  • Must be a resident of the United States
  • Workday must overlap by at least 6 hours with Alameda, CA, USA
  • 10–20% travel to Europe and Canada required
  • Master of Public Affairs or Master of Public Policy, experience in energy, climate tech, or infrastructure, familiarity with US, European, and/or Canadian environmental or energy policies, French/German/Swedish, and CRM/ABM tools such as HubSpot are listed as pluses, not requirements
