About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate student learning by developing instructional strategies for diverse student needs and student engagement
  • Create learning experiences integrating instructional technologies and hybrid, in-person, virtual, and online delivery methods
  • Assess student learning and provide regular feedback
  • Use data to measure persistence, retention, completion, course success, and learning outcomes and design improvement strategies
  • Develop and revise competency-based, current curriculum and instructional materials aligned with employer expectations and college policy
  • Fulfill assigned schedules and maintain accurate attendance and grade records
  • Maintain safe, orderly instructional environments and ensure equipment security
  • Ensure course materials, including textbooks, are available to students
  • Participate in division, department, and team activities and meetings, including planning, development, and budgeting
  • Build relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners through advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and community groups
  • Collaborate with staff to recruit students and promote the College and its programs
  • Advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and support success
  • Advise students on class schedules, careers, internships, and program-related information
  • Maintain current occupational and teaching knowledge through professional development, industry networking, and new techniques and technology
  • Participate in committees and team meetings as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in a related field is required
  • Minimum of two (2) years full-time (or 4,000 total hours if part-time) of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught
  • One year (or 2,000 hours) shall be within five (5) years prior to the date of appointment
  • One year (or 2,000 hours) may be waived for occupational instructors with at least two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within five (5) years prior to the date of appointment
  • Proficiency utilizing learning management system
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs
  • Effective and professional communication with various audiences
  • Commitment to continuous improvement using innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
  • Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation
