Director of Chaperone Programming
National FFA Organization. Lead and support the adult attendee experience throughout the Washington Leadership Conference .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support the adult attendee experience throughout the Washington Leadership Conference
- Communicate conference expectations and provide guidance and support to adult attendees
- Address attendee concerns and oversee chaperone programming and experiences
- Lead and support WLC facilitators, including coaching session delivery and contributing to staff development and discipline
- Collaborate with the Director of Student Programming and Program Coordinator on conference operations and participant needs
- Complete administrative duties such as expense vouchers, expense reports, and conference travel scheduling
- Correspond with local, state, and National FFA staff
- Make responsible spending decisions within the established program budget
- Facilitate all selected pre-developed content during each conference
- Coordinate assigned in-person or virtual Corporate Partner visits
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with National FFA Staff regarding conference changes and updates
- Receive and implement feedback throughout the conference season
- Participate in mandatory training weeks and conference programming
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be able to perform the mental and physical demands of the position
- Must pass a background check and drug screening upon hiring
- Must have dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a frequently changing environment
- Good interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and work with diverse internal and external people, members, teachers, state staff, and National staff
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to prioritize, organize, use time-management skills, and multitask
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to problem solve/analyze
- Computer literate and able to make and receive phone calls
- Confident speaking in front of small and large groups
- Ability to provide and receive feedback with a growth mindset and collaborative demeanor
- Personal access to and ability to use a computer or laptop
- High school diploma, some college, or Bachelor’s degree
- At minimum, one year of experience as a National FFA conference facilitator or in agricultural education
- First Aid/CPR certification required
- Must complete all required application materials through the application system
