About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct leadership seminars and workshops for high school student conferences during National FFA’s Washington Leadership Conference
  • Teach conference curriculum
  • Provide counsel to participants and motivate students
  • Serve as a tour leader
  • Address disciplinary issues when necessary
  • Complete administrative tasks, including expense vouchers/reports and scheduling conference travel
  • Correspond with local, state, and National FFA staff
  • Participate in two weeks of planning and training before the first conference
  • Facilitate all selected pre-developed content during each conference
  • Coordinate an in-person or virtual Corporate Partner visit when assigned
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with National FFA Staff regarding conference changes and updates
  • Receive and implement feedback throughout the conference season

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be able to perform the mental and physical demands of the position
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening upon hiring
  • Must have dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a frequently changing environment
  • Good interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external people, members, teachers, state staff, and National staff
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, manage time, multitask, problem solve, and analyze
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Computer literacy and ability to make and receive phone calls
  • Confidence speaking in front of small and large groups
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback with a growth mindset and collaborative demeanor
  • Personal access to and ability to use a computer or laptop
  • High school diploma; some college
  • Previous FFA experience preferred
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR upon hire
