About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in conducting financial audits related to the Model Audit Rule
  • Assist with walkthroughs and tests of controls for ongoing Model Audit Rule compliance
  • Prepare internal audit reports and present them to management
  • Develop improvement recommendations based on audit results
  • Collaborate with management to agree on action plans and target dates for remediating audit findings
  • Assist in responding to audit requests from the external auditor and state insurance departments
  • Assist with special projects as requested
  • Report to the AVP, Internal Audit
  • Work collaboratively with employees across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Risk Management, or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to accurately assess processes and controls, recognize issues, determine root causes, and recommend value-added solutions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Dedicated self-motivated work ethic
  • Excellent project management skills to perform multiple projects while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work remotely
