About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Lead construction teams and perform supervisory responsibilities
- Resolve customer disputes, site issues, and urgent operational problems
- Act as the management team's right-hand person
- Manage clients and superintendents
- Review projects in depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Monitor onsite and offsite construction for compliance with building and safety regulations
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory
- Meet contractual conditions of performance
- Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, project budgets, and accounting records
- Review work progress daily
- Prepare internal and external reports on job status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues
- Negotiate agreement terms, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards and proper construction techniques
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management practices
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competence in conflict and crisis management
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Knowledge of construction technology
- Familiarity with project and department budget processes and tools
- Knowledge of project controls
- Risk assessment/management knowledge
- Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures
