About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and deliver financial reports to the CFO, Senior Management, and Executive Team
- Develop project and grant proposal budgets with Programmatic and Finance staff
- Educate staff on budget and financial planning processes
- Develop, monitor, and report on annual Division revenue goals
- Track donor reporting requirements and provide financial information for external stakeholders
- Monitor performance obligations in grant agreements and escalate revenue- or cash-impacting delays
- Monitor sub-award payments and communicate upcoming cash needs
- Reconcile budgets and anticipated costs with actual resource allocation
- Prepare monthly variance narratives and report unbudgeted cash available by restricted purpose
- Prepare budget adjustments and recommend improvements for subsequent budgeting cycles
- Coordinate cash management and short-term investment decisions with the VP of Finance & Controller
- Direct invoice processing and verify expenditures comply with project, award, Trust, donor, and approved budget requirements
- Ensure timely submission of division-funded personnel activity reporting
- Prepare monthly journal entries for restriction release, revenue recognition, and other month-end close tasks
- Monitor and support grants budget management, lifecycle administration, and reporting
- Prepare ad-hoc donor financial reporting
- Coordinate project proposal and donor reporting reviews
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and grant/subaward terms
- Assist with financial and compliance reporting and maintain documentation
- Design and implement reporting systems and processes for new initiatives
- Monitor restricted cash balances and update cash forecasts
- Prepare monthly AACHAF Endowment reports
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 8+ years’ experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Advanced project-management, team-management, and client-management skills
- Ability to achieve results with limited supervision
- Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience successfully managing key stakeholders and relationships
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments to implement processes and achieve results
- Demonstrated success in engaging diverse colleagues and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently, and respond to a high volume of ongoing requests in a timely fashion
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions

- Demonstrated competence using Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms in a professional setting
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
