About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide diabetes-focused nursing care in the endocrinology clinic
  • Cross-train in the clinic for endocrinology and diabetes patients
  • Perform office triage for diabetes patients
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and record medical histories
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses with medical procedures
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Perform required physical activities, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, standing, walking, and repositioning patients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing, required
  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio, required
  • BLS certification, required
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence in specified nursing care
  • Positive, effective, and age-appropriate interaction skills with patients/families, physicians, and other healthcare team members
  • Must travel to Endocrinology-Worthington
  • Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with assistance from another person(s) and/or equipment
