Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engineer and maintain innovative, customer-centric, high-performance, secure and robust solutions
  • Work within a feature team to engineer software, scripts and tools
  • Liaise with engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform
  • Produce complex and critical software rapidly and to a high quality
  • Manage software across its full lifecycle, from initial development through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
  • Collaborate to optimise software engineering capability
  • Design, produce, test and implement software solutions
  • Work across requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Background in software engineering and solution design
  • Experience delivering scalable, reliable applications throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys solving complex technical challenges
  • Experience delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Maven, DB2 and GitLab
  • Experience delivering enterprise-grade applications from design through deployment
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs according to engineering standards and best practices
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, scalability, resiliency, caching and performance optimisation
  • Experience with Java performance tuning and troubleshooting, including root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Experience with Agile delivery, automation, production support and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Grafana
