About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build the bank's DevOps engineering capability, culture and mindsets
Promote technical and cultural change and accelerate adoption of DevOps Centre of Excellence practices
Mentor and coach feature and platform teams to improve DevOps capability
Assess teams' DevOps technical capability and identify gaps
Support capability improvements through learning workshops and training
Demonstrate measurement, understanding and visualisation of value flow and delivery using DevOps tools, techniques and processes
Advise platform and Centre of Excellence teams on suitable DevOps capability uplifts
Provide feedback to improve policies, standards, practices and DevOps tooling
Ensure decisions are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures
Improve the platform and support the Cloud and DevOps team
Enhance route-to-live workflows
Support migration of services from private cloud to public cloud

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in Software Development
Extensive experience in CI/CD pipelines
Extensive experience in automation scripting
Proficiency with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge and experience in AWS hosting and services
Solid understanding of programming languages, preferably Java Spring Boot
Experience containerising Java applications to run on Amazon EKS
Demonstrable CI/CD and GitOps experience, preferably using GitLab and Argo CD
Automation scripting in Python and Bash
Experience with observability tooling such as Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir and Prometheus
