Design and engineer software with customer or user experience as the primary objective
Contribute to the architecture, design and engineering centre of excellence
Build and leverage stakeholder relationships
Create customer outcomes through engineering, innovative solutions and technology designs
Collaborate with software engineers on production and prototyping of innovative ideas
Engage with domain and enterprise architects to validate and leverage architectures
Design and develop software focused on automating build, test and deployment activities
Define, create, oversee and govern engineering and design solutions focused on automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability
Work within a platform or feature team to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools for bank platforms, applications and services
Act as a point of contact for solution design considerations
Define and develop architecture models and roadmaps for application and software components
Drive common usability across products and domains
Design, produce, test and implement working code
Apply Agile methods and DevOps techniques to software development

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in software engineering, software or database design and architecture
Experience developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework
Expert understanding of the latest market trends, technologies and tools
Significant and demonstrable experience implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
Strong background in leading software development teams in a matrix structure
At least 12 years of hands-on experience in Java development, including Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices
Strong experience in Risk domain applications, preferably within investment banking or financial services environments
Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices
Proven experience in API design, development, and integration, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
Experience leading software engineering teams in a matrix environment, driving technical strategy and Agile delivery
