About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, produce, test and implement working software across the system lifecycle
  • Develop knowledge of the associated platform across business, applications, data and infrastructure disciplines
  • Liaise with principal engineers, domain architects and key stakeholders to understand platform operation and business objectives
  • Apply Agile methods to software development on the backlog
  • Produce resilient, long-lived software and adapt to future needs
  • Deliver intentional architecture and formulate emergent design through ideas, experimentation and prototyping
  • Design and develop software with automated build, test and deployment activities using executable patterns
  • Apply Microservices, Kubernetes and Cloud Technologies
  • Work in a permanent feature team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong full stack experience in software design and implementation
  • Ability to use programming languages to solve complex problems
  • Complex requirements analysis, capture and validation against business and systems requirements
  • Experience leading implementation of programming best practice, especially scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
  • Strong experience in Microservices, Observability and Cloud Technology, specifically AWS
  • Hands-on experience in Spring, Spring Boot and Docker
  • Experience with information security policies and practices within the financial sector
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts simply
  • Ability to work with business teams to produce pragmatic solutions
  • Required to work at least one day a week from the Manchester office
