Design and engineer software with customer or user experience as the primary objective
Contribute to the architecture, design and engineering centre of excellence
Build and leverage stakeholder relationships
Create customer outcomes through engineering, innovative solutions and technology designs
Work with software engineers in the production and prototyping of innovative ideas
Engage with domain and enterprise architects to validate and leverage solutions in wider contexts
Design and develop software with a focus on automating build, test and deployment activities
Develop software engineering discipline across the business
Define, create, and provide oversight and governance of engineering and design solutions
Focus on end-to-end automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability
Work within a platform or feature team to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools
Enable delivery of bank platforms, applications and services
Act as a point of contact for solution design considerations
Define and develop architecture models and roadmaps for application and software components
Drive common usability across products and domains
Design, produce, test and implement working code
Apply Agile methods and DevOps techniques to software development

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in software engineering, software or database design and architecture
Experience developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework
Expert understanding of latest market trends, technologies and tools
Significant and demonstrable experience implementing programming best practice, especially scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
12 or more years of experience in Java development
Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JDBC, Multithreading, JUnit, and TestNG
Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including database design, complex query development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Proven experience working in Unix/Linux environments, particularly RHEL, with expertise in application deployment, monitoring, and production support
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using GitLab and TeamCity
Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Jira
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions
Demonstrated ability to develop, enhance, and support robust enterprise applications
Experience with performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise applications
