About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sponsor projects to drive changes to pay constructs or meet regulatory requirements
- Provide expert support, technical advice and frameworks for business areas with a high volume of compensation constructs
- Advise on appropriate pay constructs
- Collate and analyse market data
- Support business cases
- Provide advice on exit packages, annual pay review and bonus processes, remuneration design, policy guidance and reward benchmarking
- Develop pay constructs balancing fixed and variable pay across the bank
- Work with business heads to design fixed pay constructs, including pensions and benefits provision
- Co-sponsor the annual pay review process
- Provide HR ExCo and bank-wide leaders with expert diagnostic insights and challenge regarding compensation
- Govern compensation approval requests and severance approval requests processes
- Work with colleagues to manage employee relations for Reward items with social partners
- Manage delivery against financial plans and budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation and prioritisation
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least twelve years of experience in compensation and benefits
- Experience gained in a banking, regulatory or commercial environment
- Knowledge and application of HR theories, models and best practices
- Expert knowledge of compensation, regulatory reward and governance practices and their application
- Knowledge of regulations and how they apply to reward and benefit structures
- Understanding of attraction and retention and how that interplays with Reward and EVP
- Analytical skills
- Stakeholder management
- Ability to derive actionable insights
- Knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulations and risk management
