About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead full strategic ownership of a highly complex book of business, including employer groups, health plans, and multi-consultant relationships.
- Direct client account strategy, including planning, execution, and ongoing refinement based on clinical trends, utilization data, and business insights.
- Maintain trusted executive-level relationships with clients, brokers, and consultants.
- Guide Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), including agenda setting, cross-functional preparation, pre-review planning, and delivery of customized insights and recommendations.
- Upsell value-added programs such as AGS, medical carveouts with Archimedes products, and clinical program offerings.
- Translate complex reporting, claims adjudication concepts, and clinical insights into actionable recommendations.
- Identify root causes of performance gaps across the end-to-end process.
- Resolve complex client issues independently using operational, contractual, and clinical knowledge.
- Mentor Account Executive team members through best-practice sharing, training materials, task forces, and workgroups.
- Support organizational goals by strengthening client partnerships, increasing adoption of value-added programs, aligning solutions with clinical, financial, and utilization trends, and supporting sustainable growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience leading highly complex client accounts within the PBM, health plan, healthcare, or related benefits environment, including responsibility for overall account strategy, performance, and retention required.
- 5 years of demonstrated success managing executive-level client, broker, and consultant relationships, involving significant customization, financial impact, and strategic oversight required.
- 5 years of experience leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and other strategic client engagements that address clinical trends, financial outcomes, utilization patterns, and performance guarantees required.
- 5 years of experience independently resolving complex account issues, applying sound judgment to determine when escalation is necessary versus when issues can be resolved without leadership involvement required.
- 5 years of experience mentoring peers and contributing to formal or informal training, task forces, workgroups, or cross-functional initiatives that improve client outcomes or operational effectiveness required.
- 5 years of working knowledge of claims adjudication processes, including the ability to assess downstream impacts on client experience, financial outcomes, and clinical program performance required.
- 5 years of experience using client reporting systems, analytics tools, and company platforms to interpret data, generate insights, and support proactive, strategic decision-making required.
- Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
- Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; remote work is unavailable to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
