About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Legal Engineering delivery pillar within the Legal, Privacy & Compliance Engineering organization
Lead engineering teams building, integrating, and operating technology for contract lifecycle management, legal document management, eDiscovery and legal hold, intellectual property management, eBilling, and AI agentic workflows
Own a portfolio combining enterprise SaaS platforms, bespoke software, interoperability layers, and custom applications
Own end-to-end delivery of legal technical solutions across jurisdictions
Hire, retain, assess, develop, and coach engineering managers, staff engineers, architects, contractors, and interns
Own engineering delivery, technical health, reliability, and quality across the legal technology portfolio
Drive architecture reviews, code quality, CI/CD, automated testing, and operational readiness
Steer complex concurrent programs and projects, including decisions, escalations, and delivery health
Establish software quality, legal architecture, engineering standards, and cyber guidelines
Lead interoperability strategy across SaaS platforms and bespoke software, including APIs, data integration, workflow orchestration, and shared services
Ensure enterprise architecture, security, privacy, and data governance compliance
Communicate program status, risks, and engineering trade-offs to senior executives
Represent the organization in regulatory discussions, audits, and external partner engagements
Partner with Product Management, Legal, Legal Operations, Cyber, Principal Architects, and technical program teams
Manage system reliability, performance, defects, enhancements, problems, incidents, root cause analysis, SLAs, support metrics, and data integrations
Build a high-trust, high-accountability engineering culture and grow leaders through feedback and coaching

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
12+ years of experience in software engineering
7+ years in engineering management or senior technical leadership
5+ years of experience leading ML and automation solutions
3+ years of hands-on experience with AI, including building or leading agentic workflows and/or agent orchestration
Deep legal technology experience in a large enterprise environment
Working knowledge of application security fundamentals, including SSO/IAM, API security, secure SDLC, and security review practices when integrating SaaS
Strong track record leading cross-functional programs with legal stakeholders
Ability to influence and communicate at SVP/VP levels
Experience managing and growing engineering teams in a matrixed Fortune 100 or equivalent environment
