About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Implement, support, and evolve infrastructure security platforms and services
Provide secure design and engineering guidance and fulfill business requests for security tools and services
Support and engineer Endpoint, WAF, DNS, Email, and Layer 7 firewall security services
Improve tooling for managing security rule sets and align policies with organizational risk-reduction goals
Participate in and oversee the on-call rotation for critical systems and off-hours incident response
Mentor junior staff on security best practices
Develop automation strategies for security policy administration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security protections into existing tools and environments
Use data sources and advanced analytics to create metrics and reports on enterprise performance and security posture

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of experience managing and troubleshooting network firewalls, endpoint security, and DNS security
Solid understanding of network security principles and application
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to use data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause, and develop solutions
Knowledge or hands-on experience with Cloudflare, Akamai, or similar web application firewall solutions
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
Positive attitude
Bonus: Experience with CrowdStrike, Tanium, Airlock, or similar endpoint protection products
Bonus: Experience with Git, Bitbucket or GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, or AWS Lambda
Bonus: Experience with email authentication, Proofpoint, SPF, DMARC, and DKIM policies
Bonus: Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, highly segmented and transient networks, or high-performance network environments
Bonus: Experience with Jira and Agile, Scrum, or Kanban concepts
Comfortable with scripting or software development
