About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform or oversee key servicing aspects of assigned complex middle-market and high-impact accounts
  • Manage new business and renewal submissions
  • Review coverage and analyze customer needs
  • Prepare proposals
  • Process policy changes
  • Review and timely deliver policy documents
  • Maintain professional, thorough, concise, and error-free documentation in the agency management system and carrier websites
  • Identify customer issues or concerns by listening and clarifying comments
  • Research system files, procedures, and guidelines to determine required actions
  • Provide accurate verbal or written responses regarding existing coverage levels
  • Recommend additional products or services to minimize coverage gaps
  • Participate in routine department and agency meetings
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve customer experience and department/agency efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Serve as customer advocate between customers and carriers regarding insurance coverage
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and/or Producer to identify coverage gaps and recommend offerings
  • Adhere to department procedures and guides to ensure accurate responses and customer satisfaction
  • Travel as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree and 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Property & Casualty Broker's license and/or Life, Accident, and Health license, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Professional Insurance designation or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Excellent verbal and business writing skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data, research problems, and make sound decisions using own judgement, manuals, and available resources
  • Ability to work independently and in groups
  • Ability to present information to team members and customers
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments with attention to detail and quality
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook email management
  • Proficiency in quoting, proposing, and binding coverage within stringent deadlines
  • Highly proficient in management systems and technology tools
  • Subject matter expertise in department workflows and guidance
  • Subject matter expertise in insurance concepts and core carrier underwriting guidelines and requirements
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
  • Ability to remain stationary 75% of the time or greater
  • Ability to move objects up to 10 lbs
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
