About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support across Group tax activities to ensure tax filing and reporting obligations are met
- Assist the tax team with the tax compliance and statutory reporting cycle
- Build relationships with the wider finance team to obtain required information in a timely manner
- Assist in preparing UK corporate tax returns and submitting overseas tax returns where applicable
- Assist with tax reporting and accounting for the Group and individual subsidiaries
- Review cross-border taxation requirements, including filing requirements and permanent establishment assessments
- Assist in preparing quarterly UK VAT returns and reviewing VAT on business costs
- Handle ad hoc VAT and PAYE queries
- Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations
- Prepare and submit Short Term Business Visitor returns
- Keep up to date with tax legislation changes and best practice
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the Group tax function
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field or equivalent
- CPA qualification required or equivalent
- Previous experience in UK/US tax accounting, preferably with exposure to UK clients
- Proficiency in UK accounting software such as Xero, Sage, IRIS, and TaxCalc
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of IFRS principles, including recent changes
- Understanding of good financial control
- Fully competent in all Microsoft applications
- UK-recognised qualification or equivalent (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACCA) desirable but not essential
- In-depth knowledge of UK tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT, and personal income tax, desirable but not essential
- Working knowledge of Workday finance system beneficial
