About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Float between three cancer clinic locations to provide coverage based on staffing needs
  • Greet and welcome patients and others in person, at the check-in desk, or via telephone
  • Answer incoming calls professionally
  • Check in and check out patients according to established protocols
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Register patients
  • Provide coverage when team members are out or when additional staffing support is needed
  • Work varying shift times based on clinic needs without a set schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 16 years of age required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients and other internal/external customers required
  • Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff and patients in a timely, confidential manner required
  • Demonstrated analytical, prioritization and organizational skills required
  • Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment required
  • Effective communication skills required
  • Flexibility to work at all three clinic locations is required
  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • One year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity preferred
  • Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred depending on position available
