About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and dispense medication upon receiving prescriptions from prescribers
  • Process all related duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Provide a positive patient experience
  • Deliver medications to discharging patients
  • Dispense prescriptions to traditional patients seen in clinics
  • Work across Nebraska Medicine retail pharmacy locations and the HUB Pharmacy
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to provide patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on-the-job training required
  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a handheld calculator required
  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required
  • Work experience demonstrating analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred
  • College coursework in pharmacy preferred
  • Ability to type 20 wpm with error correction preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
