About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide remote nursing care to patients and assist bedside Registered Nurses through technology
- Virtually administer patient care using the nursing process from admission through discharge
- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, providers, and clinical disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes
- Use virtual tools to communicate effectively with patients
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Provide age-specific care and individualized patient support
- Perform initial and ongoing evaluations of nursing care needs
- Incorporate patient and significant-other information into evaluations
- Prioritize data collection according to immediate patient needs
- Use evaluation findings in discharge planning
- Develop, review, revise, and individualize plans of care
- Provide patient education specific to healthcare problems
- Evaluate continuing-care needs and referrals for discharge or transfer
- Perform tasks safely and appropriately within established plans of care
- Follow nursing protocols, standards of care, current research, and evidence-based knowledge
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions
- Evaluate patient capabilities and limitations related to nursing and medical interventions
- Monitor patients’ and significant others’ ability to manage care after dismissal

- Ensure appropriate task delegation, personnel selection, communication, and feedback
- Maintain fiscal accountability and accurately charge for supplies and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college of nursing required
- Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) may obtain the BSN or MSN within 5 years from date of hire
- Five years previous inpatient nursing experience required
- Experience in telehealth or virtual care preferred
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR), Microsoft Office products, and virtual communication tools
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of disciplines
- Ability to demonstrate independent clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment
- Ability to work Monday–Friday shifts between 8:00am and 9:00pm
- Weekday holidays required on rotation; weekends and nights may be added as the program expands
- Ability to perform medium light work, exerting up to 35 pounds of force
- Current valid RN licensure or qualifying compact multistate license/temporary permit required
