About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support NERC compliance programs for renewable and electric power clients
- Develop processes, controls, documentation, and continuous-improvement plans
- Serve as a technical and regulatory resource for NERC Reliability Standards
- Support compliance for inverter-based resources, including registration, performance, modeling, validation, and readiness requirements
- Monitor reliability requirements affecting large computational loads and develop client-specific compliance plans and gap assessments
- Develop internal controls, evidence-management approaches, and audit-readiness documentation
- Prepare compliance policies, procedures, technical reports, evidence packages, and training materials
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, project management, information technology, and external partners
- Track changes in NERC standards, FERC requirements, Regional Entity expectations, and grid-reliability practices
- Meet with clients virtually and in person as needed to explain requirements, present findings, and provide recommendations
- Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, and training
- Use digital tools, automation, and data analytics to improve compliance tracking and reporting
- Support and mentor engineers and contribute to NEI standards, templates, and best practices
- Maintain ethical, professional, and safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or Power Systems from an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in NERC compliance program management, audit readiness, power-system compliance, or a closely related role
- Proficiency in more than one of: PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, or TSAT
- Understanding and experience in relay protection and settings development
- Strong working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, including PRC, FAC, MOD, VAR, CIP, TOP, EOP, or related obligations
- Experience developing or improving compliance programs, internal controls, evidence-management processes, policies, or procedures
- Experience supporting NERC or Regional Entity audits, spot checks, self-certifications, data requests, or other regulatory interactions
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory and technical requirements and translate them into practical actions
- Understanding of risk-based compliance methods, gap assessments, corrective-action planning, and compliance-management practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines, lead workstreams, mentor others, and build client relationships
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Professional Engineering Licensure, NERC-Certified System Operator, CRCM, or other relevant certification/licensure preferred
- Familiarity with PowerFactory, ETAP, or ASPEN preferred
- Experience with compliance-management platforms, workflow automation, dashboards, or data analytics preferred
