About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Financial Controller
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for UK and US trading entities
  • Complete sales reporting and margin analysis to deadlines and explain outputs to non-finance colleagues
  • Prepare information for the monthly Management Accounts Pack
  • Ensure sales and COGS transactions are accurate and reconciled across multiple sales channels
  • Support Commercial Finance with ad hoc sales and margin reporting
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve queries
  • Own stock accounting and drive efficiencies and process improvements
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting, compare standard costs with actual production costs, and investigate purchase price variances
  • Maintain selling prices and customer discounts in the ERP
  • Identify and deploy system improvements that reduce manual accounting work and improve reporting timeliness
  • Liaise with Operations on stock reporting, physical stock takes, and periodic reconciliations
  • Business partner with Commercial Finance and the wider business on commercial decision-making
  • Support annual and interim audit information requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Part/Qualified accountant
  • Experience of an ERP accounting software system
  • IT literacy enabling analysis and interrogation of data using Excel
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with external and internal clients
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Experience of stock monitoring, including stock counts and reconciliations
  • Experience of standard cost accounting
  • Experience of Sage X3 (ERP)
  • Some audit-related experience, such as process walkthroughs or pulling samples
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Commercial Finance and colleagues across the business
