About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generate leads and investment opportunities through market relationships and NESsT’s institutional network
- Analyze and perform integral due diligence on social enterprises’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations
- Build investment memos for presentation to the Credit Committee at all three underwriting stages
- Seek approval for loan deals
- Build, manage, and own loan finance models for each transaction
- Incorporate management projections and develop downside-case scenarios
- Discuss social enterprise documents and analysis with the Fund Director
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, including proposed conditions and covenants
- Provide business assistance to entrepreneurs during due diligence so they can qualify for NESsT loans
- Assess companies’ social and environmental impact using NESsT’s impact framework
- Lead transaction negotiations, term-sheet negotiations, final loan documentation, ancillary agreements, and cash management of loan disbursals
- Support all areas of the Lirio Fund Andes team
- Lead the work of Loan Associates
- Report to the Lirio Fund Andes Director located in Lima
- Travel occasionally to other cities in Peru and Colombia may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required
- A master’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field is preferred
- At least five years of relevant professional experience
- At least three years in investment analysis, credit assessment, or financial review of small and medium-sized enterprises in Latin America
- Experience in Peru, Colombia, or the wider Andean region is required
- Experience in credit risk, investment banking, small and medium-sized enterprise financing, or leasing is preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Strong financial modelling skills and experience with accounting and reading financial statements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to social impact; volunteer experience may qualify
- Experience with social enterprises or impact investing in the agricultural sector is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written Spanish skills
- Advanced verbal and written English skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks, and meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to be flexible, resourceful, and innovative
- Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft Office
- Ability to submit application materials in English
- Availability to start in January 2027
