About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive financial support to the factory and Factory Financial Controller
  • Provide visibility of costing-related situations through variance control and value-adding insights
  • Support CAPEX and fixed asset activities, including financial validation, AUC balance management and monthly Fixed Assets Register accuracy
  • Challenge assumptions and support cost-saving improvement projects by identifying, reviewing and validating proposed and actual savings
  • Analyse and report monthly actual factory costs and dynamic forecasts
  • Participate in month-end processes, including raising journals, reconciliations, monthly reporting and variance analysis
  • Identify and promote cost-reduction initiatives to achieve factory cost objectives
  • Participate in and lead business planning by preparing and coordinating the factory ACE (Annual Cost Estimate)
  • Develop forecasts, revisions and simulations
  • Identify and drive cost-improvement opportunities through financial insight and benchmarking
  • Support best-practice implementation and robust internal controls over factory assets and liabilities
  • Develop the factory’s understanding of financial data and support others in developing financial capabilities
  • Drive and support the factory’s NCE (Nestle Centre of Excellence) journey aligned with the UK&I NCE strategy
  • Ensure compliance across all financial matters for the factory
  • Deputise for the Factory Financial Controller as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Part or fully qualified Accountant
  • Ideally, a breadth of finance experience
  • Finance experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain or operations is advantageous
  • Strong management accounting skills, including month-end close, accruals and prepayments
  • Experience in standard costing and analysing material, labour, overhead, usage and efficiency variances
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Experience supporting CAPEX projects, including financial evaluations, project benefit reviews and appropriate accounting
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs and analysis of large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and financial control awareness
  • Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Confidence to constructively challenge and influence non-finance stakeholders, including factory and operational teams
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to influence across all levels and develop positive cross-business relationships
  • Ability to work flexibly when prioritising work in an often ambiguous environment
  • Results-focused and curious approach
