About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collect samples from production areas according to established schedules and procedures
- Perform routine laboratory analyses on incoming goods, in-process samples, allergens, and finished products
- Carry out analyses according to standard procedures, work instructions, and Nestlé-approved methods
- Support integration of new analytical methods, instruments, and technologies
- Manage chemical inventory, reagent and standard preparation, and proper disposal
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Prepare and manage samples for external analysis
- Provide flexible support across laboratory areas during peak workloads or staffing gaps
- Perform peer review of laboratory data
- Enter results into digital systems and complete documentation accurately
- Investigate out-of-specification results and report them to Quality Leadership
- Troubleshoot testing issues, sampling inconsistencies, and instrument abnormalities
- Review and manage external laboratory testing reports
- Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Train and provide troubleshooting support for analytical testing on the production floor
- Adhere to Nestlé, GLP, GMP, regulatory, occupational health, and environmental policies
- Create and revise work instructions
- Execute and monitor laboratory quality monitoring schemes and internal control plans
- Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing, and method verifications/validations
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations
- Follow Fremont Factory safety and environmental objectives, targets, and plant safety rules
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field
- Basic knowledge of analytical testing, instrumentation, good laboratory practices (GLP), and laboratory safety
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment preferred
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment
- Strong attention to consistency, detail, and planned schedules
- Ability to maintain orderly records, files, and documentation
- Good time management and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital tools
- Must be eligible to work without visa sponsorship
