About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support all sensory testing activities
- Lead descriptive trained panels and end-to-end sensory tests using sensory science principles
- Translate sensory data into insights and actionable business recommendations
- Manage, onboard, and train sensory panelists
- Screen and recruit sensory panelists
- Design sensory references and training materials
- Manage sensory reference databases
- Plan and execute sensory training and calibration sessions
- Monitor panel performance and maintain high-quality sensory data
- Maintain sensory panel resource utilization records with external agencies
- Plan, schedule, and run panel sessions
- Manage samples and sensory references for calibration and data collection
- Collaborate with technicians on sample preparation and serving
- Develop and maintain tasting procedures and study documentation
- Create test questionnaires and set up studies in sensory software
- Manage global sensory glossaries and preparation protocols
- Manage methodology, data analysis, and reporting for shelf-life studies
- Prepare and present study findings
- Perform univariate statistical analysis and communicate actionable recommendations
- Lead and contribute to local sensory initiatives
- Improve sensory methodologies, processes, and laboratory practices
- Participate in knowledge sharing
- Support implementation of sensory standards, tools, and best practices
- Deliver sensory training to cross-functional audiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS or BA in Food Science or related field
- Technical training in QDA analysis
- Experience in quantitative descriptive panel training and moderation is a plus
- Strong computer skills: MS-Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Sensory data collection and statistical software (e.g. SIMS 2000, XLSTAT, Eye Question, FIZZ, SAS) is a plus
- Experience with statistical analysis and reporting
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Flexible work hours, as required by the business
- Eligible for visa sponsorship
