About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute category growth strategies driving sales, share, and profitability
  • Identify emerging trends, shopper insights, and marketplace opportunities
  • Translate complex data into compelling recommendations and executive-level business stories
  • Lead category reviews, strategic planning discussions, and retailer presentations
  • Build trusted relationships with Petco stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Influence assortment, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and space decisions through fact-based recommendations
  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Modular Planning, and Analytics
  • Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability while leading through influence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in category development, account management or business analytics OR High School diploma with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in category development, account management or business analytics
  • Regular travel to Petco headquarters and retailer meetings (~50%)
  • Travel to Purina headquarters in St. Louis approximately every other month
  • This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship
