About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Obtain proper recipe and packaging procedures before the shift
- Ensure forms, calibrated thermometers, and correct reject stickers are available on the line
- Monitor variances in Waste Compass and take appropriate action when variances are negative
- Calibrate the gram scale and checkweigher
- Check the metal detector with ferrous and nonferrous wands
- Ensure set points are operating
- Rework products rejected at the checkweigh scale
- Check metal-detector calibrations hourly
- Clear jams in the checkweigh area
- Perform daily MIR checks on component weights, tray sealing, and coding operations
- Model the Springville Compass in work-related activities
- Perform other duties assigned by the Team Leader
Requirements
What you’ll need- Understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Follow safety rules and procedures, including required protective equipment
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA policies, and the food safety program
- Identify sub-standard ingredients, products, or procedures and take corrective action
- Ability to work safely on uneven, wet, and slippery concrete surfaces
- Detect warning lights, buzzers, alarms, and hazardous-condition instruments
- Work every scheduled day and arrive at or before the scheduled starting time
- Communicate effectively with support groups, supervisors, and team members
- Accurately weigh commodities
- Ability to add, subtract, and multiply
- Legible handwriting
- Ability to work in temperatures from 35°F to 100°F
- Ability to stand at a workstation for 9–10 hours with scheduled breaks
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, with daily emergency overtime and weekend overtime
- Function effectively as a team member or one-on-one with minimum supervision
- Develop and prepare reports and maintain daily documentation
- Clear production-line jams safely and quickly
- 90 days of food manufacturing experience working in a Nestlé factory preferred
- Must be able to work the assigned 2nd shift on a 10-hour rotating schedule
- Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
