About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement daily maintenance activities according to established standards through shift validation and oversight
- Coordinate technical execution, clarify priorities, balance planned and break-in work, assign work based on validated skills, and escalate barriers
- Lead complex breakdown response, establish safe conditions, organize diagnostics, communicate restoration status and risks, validate restoration, and create permanent follow-up work
- Coach technicians during troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and commissioning
- Provide advanced support for electrical, mechanical, automation, process, packaging, control, safety, and instrumentation systems
- Audit SAP/AMM or Prometheus work-order quality and follow-up
- Lead Breakdown Analysis and Go-See Think Do activities for significant failures
- Develop troubleshooting guides, one-point lessons, and centerlines
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance optimization, equipment criticality, asset and BOM accuracy, spare-parts strategy, backups, and obsolescence actions
- Compile end-of-shift metrics covering work completion, downtime, root causes, incidents, labor utilization, and Maintenance Foundations compliance
- Participate in beginning- and end-of-shift handover meetings
- Oversee daily work traffic and coordinate radio communications
- Act as backup for the Maintenance Supervisor and designate an assistant backup coordinator
- Prioritize and redistribute work to address staffing gaps
- Communicate restoration timelines and risks to Operations Supervisors
- Remove obstacles preventing technicians from completing assigned work
- Report to the Maintenance Supervisor, with indirect guidance from the Maintenance and Engineering Managers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Three to five years of experience as a maintenance technician, including technical leadership experience
- Advanced multi-craft capability in mechanical power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics, industrial electricity, motors and controls, VFDs, servo systems, PLC/HMI diagnostics, instrumentation, and automation
- Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, network drawings, and control narratives
- Ability to use evidence and data to lead troubleshooting
- Ability to prioritize work and write technical documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting capability, and maintenance expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nestlé facilities and production-maintenance equipment
- Thorough understanding of and commitment to Nestlé Maintenance Foundations
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP/Prometheus, Power BI, DMO, and other systems
- Relevant professional certifications are preferred, including Mechatronics, CMRT, ISA CCST, NFPA 70E electrical-safety training, or Rockwell Automation controls training
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent training preferred
- Liquid processing, filling, packaging, robotics, palletizing, inspection, meat handling, and production-utility interface experience preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship
